Cookies policy.
Cookies are small text files which are transferred from our websites or services, and stored on your device. We use cookies to help us provide you with a personalised service, and to help make our websites and services better for you. Our cookies may be session cookies (temporary cookies that identify and track users within our websites or services that are deleted when you close your browser or leave your session in the application or service) or persistent cookies (cookies which enable our websites or services to “remember” who you are and to remember your preferences within our websites or services and that will stay on your computer or device after you close your browser or leave your session in the application or service).
We use the following different types of cookies:
Your cookie choice.
Strictly necessary cookies always run. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics and Mouseflow session recording) and advertising cookies (Google Ads, Meta and TikTok measurement) each run only once you have switched that purpose on: with Accept all, or purpose by purpose under Manage preferences in the cookie notice or below. Nothing else you do on the site is treated as acceptance.
You can change either choice here at any time. Switching a purpose off stops its cookies being set and deletes the ones this site has already placed; cookies set directly by third parties can be removed through your browser (see below). We remember your choice on this device for up to 12 months, or until what we ask for changes, and then ask again.
Strictly necessary cookies.
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are set in response to actions made by the user in the website and are required to identify irregular site behaviour, prevent fraudulent activity, and improve security. On our claim pages, our fraud-prevention partner Kount collects device information (such as browser and device characteristics) and sets a cookie so that an application can be checked for fraud. That information is used only to prevent fraud and is not used to track you across other websites.
You can set your browser to block or alert about these cookies, but some parts of the site, including the claim form, will then not work.
Performance cookies and analytics technologies.
These only run if you choose Accept all in the cookie notice on our claim pages. They collect information about how visitors and users use our websites and services, for instance which functionality visitors use most often, and if they get error messages from areas of the websites or services. These cookies do not collect information that identifies a visitor or user. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. We only use these cookies to improve how our websites and services work.
We use third parties such as Google Tag Manager and Mouseflow for this purpose. For further information, please see their privacy policies: policies.google.com/privacy and mouseflow.com/legal/privacy.
Functionality cookies.
These cookies allow our websites and services to remember choices you make (such as your user name, language, or the region you are in) and provide enhanced, more personal features. They may also be used to provide services you have asked for — for example, remembering your progress through our claim form. The information these cookies collect may be anonymised and they cannot track your browsing activity on other websites.
Targeting or advertising cookies.
These only run if you choose Accept all in the cookie notice on our claim pages. When you do, identifiers from an advert you clicked (for example Meta or TikTok click identifiers) are included with your claim so that we can measure which adverts led to it. If you reject, they are neither read nor sent.
These cookies are used to deliver adverts more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement, as well as help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaign. They are usually placed by advertising networks with the website operator’s permission. They remember that you have visited a website and this information is shared with other organisations such as advertisers.
For further details on how these networks process personal data, please see their respective privacy policies: Facebook Advertising (facebook.com/privacy/explanation), Google Ads (policies.google.com/privacy), Bing Ads (privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement).
Web beacons and parameter tracking.
We also use cookies and similar software known as web beacons to count users who have visited our website after clicking through from one of our advertisements on another website or in emails. These web beacons collect limited information that does not identify particular individuals. They only run if you choose Accept all in the cookie notice on our claim pages, and you can withdraw that choice at any time under “Your cookie choice” above.
Third party website widgets.
We use a third party review provider, Trustpilot, to receive and publish reviews about our services. If you make a review about our website, this will be published on www.trustpilot.com and also may be published on our website as well as in Google Search Results. For further details, please see Trustpilot’s privacy notice: legal.trustpilot.com/end-user-privacy-terms.
IP address and traffic data.
We keep a record of traffic data which is logged automatically by our servers, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, device information, the website that you visited before ours, and the website you visit after leaving our site. We also collect some site, application, and service statistics such as access rates, page hits, and page views. We are not able to identify an individual user from traffic data or site statistics.
How to disable cookies.
The simplest way to control the non-essential cookies on this site is the choice under “Your cookie choice” above. Separately, you may be able to configure your browser to restrict or block cookies, or to delete cookies that third parties have set directly; if you block cookies you may find this affects your ability to use certain parts of our websites or services, including the claim form. For more information about cookies and instructions for your browser, see its help pages: Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge.
